Man Charged With Failing To Comply With Sex Offender Registry

A Hopkinsville man was charged with failure to comply with the sex offender registry Friday morning.

Hopkinsville Police say they were called to the Christian County Health Department in reference to a child that was possibly molested and had the child taken to the hospital for medical evaluation.

26-year-old Devan Jalbert was reportedly with the child’s mother at the Christian County Health Department.  After further investigation, He was found to have failed to register with the sex offender registry in Kentucky.

Police say he was living within a thousand feet of a school and he claimed he had talked with Kentucky State Police who told him he did not have to register as a sex offender.

He was arrested and charged with failure to comply with the sex offender registry.
