Weather Threat Sending Christian County School Students Home Early

Christian County School students will be dismissed early Wednesday due to the threat of severe storms across the area.

Christian County Schools announced this morning that with overnight changes to the forecast and the area being under a moderate risk for severe weather later this afternoon, Christian County students are heading home early.

School officials says elementary schools will be released at 11am, and the middle and high schools will be released at noon. All students will have lunch before they leave school. Buildings and campuses should be clear and will close by 1pm. Inspire Early Learning will also close at 11am. There will be no aftercare for students.

Hopkinsville High School Awards Night and Baccalaureate will be rescheduled.

The Christian County Public Schools Free Physical Clinic scheduled for today is also canceled.
