Joy Closet in Hopkinsville will be having a pair of informational sessions later this month to educate on its new initiative — Hope House — and hear from the workers on the front lines that work with foster children and their placement.
Joy Closet Executive Director Heather Gray said Julia Roberts will be at the forefront of the Hope House effort.

Gray said the child’s first night before placement has been a scary one and that’s where the Hope House springs into action.

click to download audioHeather Gray began Joy Closet in Hopkinsville in 2021 after she and her husband became foster parents in 2016. In just the first six months of operation, Joy Closet served over 200 families. They utilize 7,500 square feet in the former Belmont Elementary School and provide assistance to children and teens in the foster care system.
Joy Closet is funded almost exclusively through fundraising.
