Now 4,000 Without Power In Pennyrile Electric Grid

Around 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Pennyrile Electric officials were reporting two major outages in the Weather Edge area — in what accounted for more than 2,200 customers in the Trigg, Lyon, Caldwell and Christian counties.

As of 1:30 p.m. Thursday, that’s more than doubled and continues to increase rapidly — as more than 5,200 are currently without power in the Pennyrile Electric service map.

Nearly 300 members have called in the last hour, with more than 4,600 in the Cadiz electric district and 500 in the Hopkinsville electric district experiencing interrupted service.

Among the hardest hit locations at this time include more than 1,700 without power around Rockcastle in Trigg County, more than 130 without power near the Gracey-Herndon Road intersection, and now more than 1,200 without power in downtown Cadiz.

Approximately 10 trucks are out for servicing at this time.

Barnett Road, close to Eddyville and along I-24, had more than 1,200 without power for a few hours — but that has recently been restored.
