Pennyrile Electric is already reporting two major outages in the Weather Edge area, as more than 1,200 customers are without power near and around Barnett Road 223 close to Eddyville, and more than 650 are without power near and around Rockcastle 214.
In total, officials are currently reporting more than 2,200 members have experienced interrupted or disconnected service — more than 2,100 coming from the Cadiz area.
As of 11:30 this morning, 60 homes have had power restored. More than 160 calls have been made — including 86 in the last hour — as ice accumulation and freezing rain continues to pelt west Kentucky.
State Route 730 E 4625 has 50 customers without electricity; Floyd Sumner Road 45 has 65 customers, as well.
Ten Pennyrile Electric trucks are currently out analyzing and trying to restore power to these sectors.
