A former employee in the Christian County Clerk’s office has announced she is running for the office in the 2022 election.
Erica Newby is a Christian County High School graduate and registered Republican. In a release announcing her candidacy, Newby said the clerk’s office has been stagnant in progression and that she has a lot of new ideas that will benefit both the residents of Christian County and the courthouse.
Newby worked in the clerk’s office for over seven years and says she feels strongly about election integrity and will work to ensure a transparent and trusted election process in Christian County.
She also said customer service, establishing innovative practices, and creating an efficient office will be priorities as county clerk.
Newby will run in next spring’s primary election for county clerk with the winner advancing to the November 2022 general election.
