Man Charged With Trafficking Drugs After Report Of Shots Fired

A report of shots fired led to drug charges for a Hopkinsville man on Wednesday morning.

Hopkinsville Police say they stopped a vehicle driven by 36-year-old Stanley Marcus on East 19th Street after a report of shots fired, and a law enforcement K9 alerted on the SUV, leading officers to find suspected meth and several pills in the vehicle.

No evidence of a shooting was reportedly found, and Marcus was found to have a suspended license.

He was arrested and charged with driving DUI suspended license second offense, third-degree possession of a controlled substance, prescription controlled substance not in a proper container, and trafficking meth second or more offenses.
