James David “Jim” Scott, 77, of Hopkinsville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on January 24, 2026. Born on February 18, 1948, in Christian County, Jim was the son of the late Becham and Katherine Price Scott.
Known for his remarkable sense of humor and a knack for lightening any room he entered, Jim’s laughter and good-natured teasing created memories cherished by all who knew him.
Jim grew up alongside his siblings, the late Royce, Tony, and Billy Scott, and his beloved sister Katherine “Ann” Scott, with whom he maintained a close bond throughout his years.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers. He is survived by his sister Katherine “Ann” Scott, his sons Brian, David, and Chris Scott, and his growing family of grandchildren, who will continue to honor his memory in their lives.
