Darlene Jane Taylor, 70, of Oak Grove, passed away at 11:48 p.m. Thursday, May 21, 2026, at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, TN, surrounded by loved ones.
No services will be held at this time. Dogwood Funerals & Cremations of Hopkinsville is assisting with the arrangements.
A native of Newberry, MI, she was born December 11, 1955, the daughter of the late Melvin Bruce Taylor and Mary Jane Brow Taylor. Darlene’s home was always open to friends and family, greeted with a warm meal and an extra room. She never turned down a chance to play board/card games with her children and grandchildren. She also loved to garden and read books.
She is survived by her children: Larry Vanatta, Michael Vanatta of MI, Donald (Tonya) Scholma of TN, and Tamara (Waymon) Buckley of KY; and her brothers and sisters: Fred Taylor, Steve (Patsy) Taylor, Shirley (Bob) Hokkanen, and Lana (Wayne) Dunlap all residing in MI, Susan (Martin) Kearney of CA; her grandchildren: Briana Scholma, Cody Scholma, Alyssa Scholma and Taylor Buckley; and her great -grandchildren: Raeligh Garcia and Ryder Garcia.
