Authorities in Lyon County have charged a local teenager with possessing inappropriate material after an investigation last week.
According to the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office, a school resource officer responded to a complaint at the local high school just around 2:45 last Thursday afternoon, May 7th.
Officials say the investigation revealed that a 15-year-old student had material portraying a sexual performance by a minor. Following the collection of evidence and statements, authorities say the student was charged with possession of obscene material, a Class D felony.
The Cadiz Police Department assisted the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office with the investigation.
Authorities report the juvenile was released into the care of a parent or guardian, as the case awaits review by the Court Designated Worker.
