Elizabeth "Liz" A. Utzig, age 86, of Cadiz, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at her home in Cadiz.
She was born on July 4, 1938, in Iowa City, Iowa, to Joseph A. & Agda R. Eldeen Alt.
A lifelong homemaker, Liz dedicated her life to creating a warm and welcoming home for her family and friends. She was a loving wife and mother and cherished her role as Grandma.
Liz was an active member of St. Stephen Catholic Church and a former board member and volunteer for Trigg County Helping Hands, where she worked tirelessly to assist those in need within the community. An avid reader, Liz also enjoyed crossword puzzles and sewing. She loved nature and animals, taking long walks, and tending to her garden.
Liz was preceded in death by her beloved husband, LeRoy John Utzig, on June 6, 1992. She was also preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Arthur, George, and Robert Alt.
She is survived by her children, John Utzig (Marcynda) of Murfreesboro, TN, Michael Utzig of Cadiz, Teresa Swenson (Bob) of Bloomington, IL, and Jane Ameur of Riverside, CA; her sister, Joan Belknap (Randy) of North Liberty, IA; her grandchildren, Whitney Swenson, Nathan Swenson, Ethan Ameur, Noah Ameur, Adrian Fox, Josh Fox, Tony Czelusniak, Elle Roembke, and Summer Utzig; and her great-grandchildren, Chandler Utzig, Micah Fox, Amelia and Freya Roembke, Liam and Ava Fox.
