Trees Down, But No Injuries Reported In Fort Campbell’s Morning Storm

Around 9:20 AM Sunday, Fort Campbell officials issued a tornado warning — and soon after, trees were discovered down all across the installation.

Authorities noted damage assessments are underway, and as of 4 PM, no injuries had been reported.

All Fort Campbell residents, as well as those living off the installation, should remain weather aware at all times. Know a safe area prior to storms arriving, and be prepared to react accordingly.

Fort Campbell residents and employees are asked to report any injuries or damages on the installation by calling 911 or 270-798-7111.

Rain and ongoing weather conditions have also caused floodwaters in the area. Use caution and avoid floodwater. As little as one foot of moving floodwater can be enough to float and carry away a small vehicle, and six inches of moving water can knock an adult off their feet.

Even a small amount of floodwater can hide dangers such as road collapse and debris.

Another front is expected to move through the entirety of west Kentucky, and all of the News Edge listening area, beginning around 6-to-8 PM Sunday, and lasting through midnight.
