Larry L. Still, age 76, of Hopkinsville, passed away Friday, April 26, 2024, at Ridgewood Terrace in Madisonville, of natural causes. Funeral Services will be Thursday, May 2, 2024, at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home at noon with Sister Terry Hancock officiating and burial to follow in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery-West. Visitation will be at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home on Thursday, May 2, 2024, from 11:00 AM until 12:00 Noon. The family has entrusted Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home to handle the arrangements.
Mr. Still was born on March 30, 1948, in Hopkinsville, the son of the late Rosa Lee Joiner Marquess. Larry was a mechanic for Hutson Inc. He was a veteran of the US Army and a member of the Eagles and VFW. Larry was very involved in motorcycle racing and participated in the WKCRA and Mid-South series. He raced stock cars for many seasons at Clarksville Speedway. In addition to his mother, he is preceded in death by his half-brother, Mike Marquess.
Survivors included his son, Charles Joey Still (Tara) of Elizabethtown, his daughter, Kimberly Proffitt (Billy Joe) of Mortons Gap; his brothers, Allan Still of Hopkinsville, and Wayne Still of Oklahoma; his half-sister, Patty Smith of Hopkinsville, KY; and his grandson. Eli Still.
