Trigg County Sheriff’s deputies say 43-year-old Matthew Riggs used the VA crisis line to make threatening statements about suicide by law enforcement and then would not comply with their commands. Police say when they arrived Riggs appeared to be under the influence of some substance.

After being taken into custody, deputies say he beat his head on the partition in the car, causing his head to bleed then became belligerent with law enforcement and hospital staff.

He was arrested and charged with third-degree terroristic threatening, second-degree disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest.
Deputies say this has happened on several occasions causing an ambulance and law enforcement to respond to his home just for him to refuse medical care.
