All-way Stop Coming At 272 Intersection With Pyle And Major Lanes

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will install overhead lights and stop signs at the intersection of Kentucky 272 and Pyle and Major Lanes to convert the intersection to an All-Way stop.

The Transportation Cabinet announced Wednesday morning that signage and overhead lights at the intersection with Major Lane and Pyle Lane will be installed to change the intersection to an all-way stop beginning Tuesday, April 23rd. The intersection, which is located in a curve along 272, is where Pyle Lane intersects 272 from the south side and Major Lane connects with 272 from the north.

Currently, the intersection of KY 272 with Major and Pyle Lanes is configured so that traffic on both side streets must stop, while traffic on the highway does not. With the update, motorists in all directions will be required to stop.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will be changing signage at the intersection of KY 272 with Major Lane and Pyle Lane on Tuesday and will begin replacing flashing yellow overhead lights with flashing red lights. There will also be temporary message boards and signs placed along KY 272 to make motorists aware of the change.

All work is expected to be completed in one day.

Motorists are asked to be on the lookout for workers and equipment while the work is being completed.
