Final Five Weeks To Be Busy For Christian County Students

Students in the Christian County School System have just over five weeks left before the end of the school year and graduation for the Class of 2024.

Coming out of Spring Break, Superintendent Chris Bentzel said teachers are preparing students for required state assessment testing that will begin on April 29 and continue through May 3.

click to download audioBefore the testing begins, the school district will hold an open house at the two middle schools which takes on added importance this year. The school district voted last year to move fifth grade back into the elementary schools and make middle school grades 6-8. Bentzel said the middle school open house will be on April 22.

click to download audioBentzel said the next month will be busy for students from kindergarten to 12th grade.

click to download audioThe Class of 2024 will have its graduation on Friday, May 17 at the Stadium of Champions, and Bentzel said graduation ceremonies are an important end for a student’s career and the school district takes it seriously.

click to download audioThe Hopkinsville High School graduation ceremony will be held at 5:00, and the Christian County High School ceremony will be held at 8:30. Each school’s gymnasium will serve as a ‘Plan B’ in case of bad weather.
