Kevin Crider Named Christian County Schools Assistant Superintendent

Christian County Schools announced late Thursday that Kevin Crider has been named the assistant superintendent of the school district beginning July 1.

Crider, who is currently the principal of Christian County High School, replaces Josh Hunt, who left last year to become the superintendent of the McCracken County School District.

Superintendent Chris Bentzel said in a media release that Crider has a passion for education, and combined with his proven leadership abilities, will contribute to the ongoing success of the school district.

Bentzel said Crider was chosen from a selection committee comprised of district administrators, and elementary and secondary principals who reviewed a pool of applicants and interviewed five candidates for the position. The names of the finalists were not released.

Crider graduated from Christian County High School and was the school’s baseball coach in 2004 when the Colonels won the state baseball title. In 2006, Crider became the athletic director and later the high school’s assistant principal.

He recently served as consolidation coordinator with the district and returned to the role of Christian County High School principal in the spring of 2023.
