Bertha Nell Bussell, 87, Hopkinsville, died on Saturday, March 23, 2024, in Hopkinsville.
Bertha was the daughter of the late Henry and Louise Bussell. She was born on December 4, 1936, in Hopkinsville.
Bertha was a member of Durrett Avenue Baptist Church where she was a member of the Ladies Chorus, Mass Choir, Usher Ministry, and the Carnation Club. She was a Foster Grandparent at Head Start and employed at International Shoe Factory.
Bertha enjoyed cooking, working word search puzzles, planting flowers, and attending church. She was a fashion diva who enjoyed shopping.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings, George Bussell, Milton Bussell, and Joyce Dorsey.
Survivors include her children, Edward Dillard, Sandra Bussell, Beverly Bush, Holland (Jacquline) Bussell, Sr., B. Fontella Bussell; Siblings Gloria Slayton, Wanda Willis, Douglas (Yom) Bussell; 9 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews, and cousins.
Gamble Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Funeral services will be on Wednesday, April 3, at 11:00 at the Durrett Avenue Baptist Church.
Burial will follow in the Cave Springs Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Wednesday morning at 10:00 at the church.
