A pursuit with law enforcement that started in Christian County on Interstate 24 ended in Clarksville Sunday night.

Kentucky State Police say they stopped a vehicle on Interstate 24 around the Pennyrile Parkway exit and the passenger 30-year-old Marcus Jones pushed the driver out of the vehicle and fled in the vehicle at a high rate of speed.

Jones exited onto Fort Campbell Boulevard where he lost control of the vehicle causing it to run off the road then he accelerated and struck the trooper’s vehicle before fleeing again.

Police say the pursuit came to an end on Tiny Town Road in Clarksville and Jones attempted to flee on foot but was quickly apprehended.

Jones was arrested on a Tennessee warrant for probation violation and charged in Kentucky with first-degree fleeing or evading police and attempted murder of a police officer. Jones is currently being held at the Stewart County Tennessee Detention Center while waiting for extradition to Kentucky.
