A celebration of life for 85-year-old James W. “Jimmy” Martin, Sr., of Hopkinsville, will be held at a later date.
Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include:
His sons, Nathan DeWayne Martin, of Rosamond, California, James Walton Martin, Jr. (Donna), of Hopkinsville;
His daughters, Mariea Joann Green (Tim), of Hopkinsville, Anissa Dawn Cannon (Danny), of Hopkinsville;
His grandchildren, Michaela Dawn Morris, Olivia Rae Bowman (Ryan), Donna D. Cook (John), and Lonna L. Pharris;
And his lifelong friends, David Steeley (Joyce) of Hopkinsville.
Martin, Sr., died Thursday, March 7, 2024, at Christian Health Center of natural causes. The family has chosen cremation.
He was born September 29, 1938, in Hopkinsville, the son of late Almer M. and Ethel L. Lancaster Martin.
He was in maintenance at Phelps Dodge for 30 years. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of the FFA and NRA.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Glendal W. Martin and Harold R. Martin; and his sister, Mildred Sue King.
