Theft Investigation Leads To Drug Arrest

A theft investigation led to the arrest of a Hopkinsville woman on several drug charges Monday afternoon.

Hopkinsville Police say they were investigating a theft when they located 33-year-old Shanterica Battle who had reportedly stolen $2,000 from someone in the area of North Main Street and Talbert Drive.

She was reportedly found to have ecstasy pills, a marijuana blunt, and cocaine in her possession.

She was arrested and charged with first-degree trafficking a controlled substance (drug unspecified), theft by unlawful taking, and possession of cocaine and marijuana. She was also found to have an active warrant for non-payment of court costs.
