Christian County Ag Extension Agent Reflects On 2023 Ag Year In Review

Christian County Agriculture Extension Agent Matt Futrell provided a 2023 Ag Year in Review during his recent interview on the WKDZ Morning Ag Report.

Futrell said that 2023 was a good year for area farmers, beginning with the wheat crop.

As spring settled in, so did the rain.

Futrell added that things started to go south when it came to the tobacco crop.

He said there are still some beans in the ground, but the crop seems to be between “good and average.”

Futrell wished all area farmers a Merry Christmas.

The Christian County Ag Extension Office like others in the area will be closed from Christmas Day through Monday, January 1. Agents will return to the office on Tuesday, January 2.
