Crofton Native Appointed Chief-Of-Staff For Incoming Kentucky Ag Commissioner

A Crofton native has been named the Chief-of-Staff for incoming Kentucky Commissioner of Agriculture Jonathan Shell.

Mark Bowling, who now resides in Laurel County, built a small business from the ground up and owns a farm in northern Christian County. Shell said his strong relationships across the state in agriculture, as well as his business and finance experience, will help the department serve the state.

Additionally, Heather Becker will serve Commissioner Shell as General Counsel. Becker currently serves in the Kentucky Office of the Attorney General and brings with her a wide depth of experience, in both legal matters and administration.

Shell will be sworn in as the next Kentucky Commissioner of Agriculture on Monday, January 1 at his home in Lancaster. A public ceremony will be held the following day in Frankfort at the state capitol.
