HCC Has Fall Commencement Planned For December 8

Once again, Hopkinsville Community College’s fall commencement will take place across two ceremonies — both set for Friday, December 8.

Located in the school’s Auditorium Building, Thomas L. Riley Lecture Hall, a noon ceremony will consist of those being awarded associates of applied science (AAS), diplomas and certificates.

Then, at 3 PM, associate of arts (AA) and associate of science (AS) credentials will be delivered to earners.

Students should arrive 30 minutes prior to their respective ceremony.

Per HCC Registrar Tiffanie Witt, students have applied for 731 credentials. This includes 213 two-year degrees, 39 diplomas and 479 certificates.

HCC President Dr. Alissa Young will preside over the ceremony. Chief Academic Affairs Officer Dr. Chris Boyett will present the candidates for graduation.

Performances will include the processional and recessional from the HCC Wind Ensemble, a singing of the National Anthem by HCC Faculty Member Shari Thompson and the Presentation of Colors by Christian County High School JROTC.

Remarks will be given by HCC Board Chair Ms. Leigh Durden, as well as Student Government Association President Abigail Love.
