Fort Campbell Christmas Celebration On Tap For Friday, Saturday

The Fort Campbell Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation is hosting the installation’s annual Tree Lighting Ceremony 5 PM Friday, in the grassy area and front of the U.S. Army Garrison Fort Campbell Headquarters, located at T39 Indiana Avenue.

The ceremony features musical performances by the 101st Airborne Division Band, the Child and Youth Services Choir and the arrival of Santa Claus.

For those unable to attend the event in-person, the ceremony will be live-streamed on the U.S. Army Fort Campbell Facebook page.

Fort Campbell’s Holiday Wonderland starts at 2 PM along with the Holiday Market and other fun activities at the R.F. Sink Library parking lot, located at 38 Screaming Eagle Boulevard. Featuring local artisans and food trucks, this will remain open until 8 PM.

Santa’s Workshop, featuring arts and crafts and photos with Santa, will go from 6-8 PM at the R.F. Sink Library.

Then, on Saturday, the Holiday Wonderland activities continue — starting with the annual Ugly Sweater Run at R.F. Sink Library, and Trees for Troops at the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) Parade Field. An ugly sweater contest takes place at 9:30 AM before the run, with the race to follow.

Trees for Troops, a Christmas SPIRIT Foundation program that provides real Christmas trees to Armed Forces members and their families, begins at noon and goes until 4 PM — or until trees are gone.
