Christian County School Superintendent Chris Bentzel Receives 2nd Four-Year Contract

The Christian County School Board is giving the currently leader another term.

Board members voted Thursday night to approve a new 4-year contract for Superintendent Chris Bentzel, with Board Attorney Jack Lackey saying it is very similar to his first contract.

In other business, the School Board approved a contract with the Pritchard Committee to fund a Director of Full-Service Community Schools position. Assistant Superintendent Jessica Addison says the job and grant funding align perfectly with the exisiting community engagement pillar of the strategic plan.

click to download audioThe Board also approved the redistricting map for board seats as presented by District Technology Coordinator Jason Wilson and Community Development Services Technical Services Coordinator David Carroll.

click to download audioAlliance Corporation Project Manager Tim Geegan shared an update on the new Christian County High School, which is seeing walls go up. The Board approved a $2.1 million payment to Alliance and individual contractors as well as a $32,000 payment to Hafer Architects.

Meanwhile, Christian County District Judge Lindsey Adams swore in newly elected Rebecca Pepper and newly appointed Ambrea Watkins.
