City Of Cadiz Holds Inaugural Memory Matters Walk (w/PHOTOS)

The City of Cadiz hosted its first-ever Memory Matters Walk on Saturday morning.

During a brief ceremony before the walk, Mayor Todd King welcomed the crowd on hand.

Your News Edge had the chance to visit with Mae Bacon, as her family was among the attendees, as they walked in memory of Dorothy Bacon.

Tammy Phillips also spearheaded a team to walk in memory of Kathy Payton.

Phillips added Alzheimer’s robs families of so much with their loved ones.

Cadiz Renaissance On Main Director Brianna Hyde said Saturday’s walk surpassed its fundraising goal, raising over $1,600. Those funds will be handed over to the Pennyrile Walk to End Alzheimer’s – held Saturday morning, September 23, at the Christian County Justice Center beginning at 9:00. The walk starts at 10:00.

All the proceeds raised during that event will fund research to help find a cure for the disease affecting over 5 million Americans.
