Fort Campbell Soldier Sentenced To Life For Murder Of Pregnant Wife

A Fort Campbell soldier was sentenced to life in prison Thursday following a military court martial trial this week that found him guilty of murdering his wife and injuring their unborn child.

According to the 1st Special Forces Command Public Affairs Office, Sgt. First Class Joseph Santiago will be eligible for parole and was reduced in rank from Sgt. 1st Class to Private and dishonorably discharged.

Santiago was charged with the September 2021 murder of his pregnant spouse, Meghan.

The Army said Sgt. Santiago, a signal support systems specialist, was first taken into custody the day after the murder and was held at the Grayson County Jail pending the investigation by the U.S. Criminal Investigation Division.
