A well-known business owner and Todd County community member passed away over the weekend.
Latham Funeral Home will host the funeral of Jerry Simons Tuesday morning. Jerry was a farmer and the owner of Jerry’s Barbeque which had locations in Elkton, Hopkinsville, and Cadiz. He also operated Simons Produce near Exit 4 in Clarksville and the Nashville Farmers Market.
According to his family’s post on social media over the weekend, Mr. Jerry wore many hats at our produce stands in Nashville and Clarksville and anywhere in between. He was the first face most saw and greeted everyone with his mischievous grin and smiling eyes. Jerry had a pure zest for life and the enjoyment of people that was unmatched by most in this world. He looked forward to going to the stands each and every day to spend time with his family, co-workers, and customers.
Simons passed away at Ahava Healthcare in Clarksville Saturday morning. He is survived by his wife Janice, daughter Cathy and Kenneth Thieme of San Antonio, Texas, son Jerry Wayne and Shea Simons of Elkton, and five grandchildren.
