Man Charged With DUI After Country Club Lane Crash

A Tennessee man was charged with DUI after a wreck on Country Club Lane that sent him and a child to the hospital Friday night.

Hopkinsville Police say a car driven by 23-year-old Cristian Reyes of Milan, Tennessee, failed to stop at the intersection of Cox Mill Road and Country Club Lane and collided with a truck driven by 42-year-old Thomas Coleman of Elkton.

A juvenile passenger in Coleman’s truck 3-year-old Tallon Coleman along with Rayes were both treated and transported by Hopkinsville EMS to Jennie Stuart Health for injuries.

Reyes reportedly claimed to have been a passenger but after further investigation, he was found to have been the driver and no one else had been in the vehicle.

Police say Reyes admitted to drinking at a restaurant before the crash and bottles of beer were found inside the vehicle.

Reyes was arrested and charged with DUI second offense, failure to produce an insurance card, no registration receipt, driving on a DUI suspended license, false report of an incident to law enforcement, disregarding a traffic control device, and possession of an open alcoholic beverage container in a motor vehicle.
