Pennyrile Electric crews made significant progress restoring power to customers on Sunday, with more than 20,000 customers restored.

Vice President of Member Services Brent Gilkey says as of 5:00 Sunday afternoon Pennyrile Electric was currently showing 274 separate outages, affecting 5,993 members. The customers include 736 in the Hopkinsville district, 1,312 in the Cadiz area, 1,783 in the Elkton district, and 2,161 in the Russellville district.

Gilkey says they know those members that are left without power have been out for two days and they appreciate your patience. They still anticipate full restoration to lead into the first of the week.

Gilkey says part of the challenge is addressing all the outages that range in size.
