GOOD NEWS: Guffey Re-Appointed To Kentucky Commission On Women

Governor Andy Beshear has re-appointed a former Trigg County High School alumna to a post for the Kentucky Commission on Women.

Kristie Broadbent Guffey, of Murray and formerly of Cadiz, is an associate professor of agriscience at Murray State University, and shall serve for a term expiring January 17, 2027.

An employee at WKDZ before attending MSU, Guffey has been involved Racer agriscience and graduate coordination with the university since 2019. Prior to that, she was a high school ag educator Carlisle County High School and the FFA Leadership Training Center director.

The Kentucky Commission on Women works to improve the status of women in Kentucky, educates the public about issues and challenges pertaining to women, serves as a catalyst to bring policymakers and advocates together, and is an informational clearinghouse for women around the Commonwealth.

Guffey was originally appointed to this role last summer to fill an unexpired term, one that ended on January 17. Beshear then selected her again, alongside Rachel Greenberg, Emma Hutchens, Patti Minter, Kathleen Wright, Chrysanthia Carr-Seals and Lucy Miller Gentry.
