A Madisonville man has been charged with assault after police say he shot another person in the leg earlier this month.
25-year old Denver Caraway was arrested by Madisonville Police Wednesday and charged with first-degree assault.
Police say Caraway was involved in a physical altercation on Broadway Street on the afternoon of February 9th that resulted in him shooting a victim in the leg. The victim reportedly received a serious physical injury that required surgery and extensive hospital care.
According to police, Caraway confirmed the altercation to officers and admitted to shooting the victim, claiming it was self-defense.
Caraway was booked into the Hopkins County Detention Center.
