Exam To Fill Trigg Circuit Clerk Vacancy Being Given August 3

The Kentucky Circuit Clerk’s examination to fill the vacancy being created by the retirement of Trigg County Circuit Clerk Pam Perry will be administered Tuesday in Frankfort.

Administrative Office of the Courts spokesperson Leigh Anne Hiatt says the exam will be given at the AOC office. Anyone interested in seeking the Circuit Clerk’s post is asked to contact 56th Circuit Judge C. A. Woodall, III, at 270-388-5182.

The Kentucky Circuit Court Clerk Examination is offered prior to an election and when a vacancy is to be filled by appointment outside the election cycle. One circuit court clerk is elected to serve in each of Kentucky’s 120 counties.

State law requires those interested in seeking the office of the circuit court clerk to obtain a minimum score of 70% on the qualifying exam, which is prepared and administered by the Administrative Office of the Courts.

Perry will retire this month after serving as Trigg County Clerk for the past 19 years and working in the clerk’s office since 1975.
