Two Injured After Box Truck Runs Off Road


Two area residents were transported to the hospital Friday afternoon after a Lowe’s truck ran off the road in Trigg County.

Trigg County sheriff’s deputies told the News Edge on scene the driver, from Cadiz, was traveling in the eastbound right lane of U.S. 68/Kentucky 80. Immediately after crossing the Jack Humphries Bridge, the truck’s right front tire got caught on the guardrail and went off the road.

The driver told was unable to tell deputies whether he had fallen asleep or if his eyes were just closed. The driver said he tried to keep the truck upright as it traveled down the hill.

A passenger from Hopkinsville and the driver were transported to Trigg County Hospital for treatment of unknown injuries.
