Tim Bush Named Trigg County High School Principal

Tim Bush

A familiar face at Trigg County High School has been named the new principal.

Superintendent Bill Thorpe said Tuesday morning, Tim Bush was one of seven applicants who applied for the position.

Thorpe added Bush was the best fit after the entire process was completed.

Bush, who has worked in education for 20 years, told the News Edge he got his start in education as a history teacher at Madisonville-North Hopkins High School. He would later transfer to Hopkinsville High and Middle schools.

Bush added he’s been working at Trigg County High School for the last ten years.

Bush said he found himself interested in the principal role after becoming the assistant principal two years ago.

The announcement for a new principal comes after Shannon Burcham retired in March, after working in the district for around 30 years – the last ten as principal. Randy McCallon served as the interim principal through the end of the school year.

With Bush accepting the position, his wife Chrissy, who has worked in education for nearly 15 years, will no longer be a teacher at Trigg County High School due to state nepotism rules, but will likely work elsewhere in the district.
