Cadiz Man Found With Drugs After Traffic Stop

A Cadiz man was charged with possession of drugs after a traffic stop on Main Street in Cadiz Friday night.

Trigg County Sheriff’s deputies say 38-year-old Timothy Smith was stopped for his license plate not being illuminated.

During the stop, he was reportedly found to have a suspended license, one Xanax pill, crack cocaine, a needle, along with a scale and a spoon with a white powder residue on them.

Deputies say Smith told them he used crack cocaine in Clarksville before driving to Cadiz.

He is charged with DUI, driving on a DUI suspended license, and possession of cocaine.
