KY General Assembly Cancels Sessions This Week

The Kentucky General Assembly has canceled the rest of the week due to winter weather that has hit the state and made travel hazardous. The announcement was made by the heads of both chambers of the legislature.

To make up for this week’s cancellation, the General Assembly will convene this Monday, as well as on Monday, March 1, and Friday, March 12 which will be in addition to previously scheduled legislative days.

Thursday was scheduled to be the last day legislators could file new bills for the 2021 session, but that deadline is now pushed back to next Tuesday.

The final day of the General Assembly’s 2021 Regular Session is still scheduled for March 30, which is the last day allowed by the state constitution.
