A request for a check on the welfare of a woman on Liberty Street led to drug charges Friday morning.
Hopkinsville Police say they were called to the area for 27-year-old Krista Hall who was not able to keep her head up.
When police arrived Hall was reportedly stumbling around, shaking, and crying. Police say she was clutching her purse and when asked if they could search her belongings, she refused.
During the investigation, Hall reportedly put her bag down and a straw with a residue could be seen protruding from it.
She allegedly was found to have meth inside her purse. Hall was arrested and charged with public intoxication and possession of meth.
