Kentucky Reports Over 1,000 New COVID Cases Friday

Governor Beshear said Friday the state continues to be in another escalation of COVID-19.

The governor reported 1,059 new COVID-19 cases, 114 of which are in children up to the age of 18, and 23 are in those 5 and younger.

He added “These are just far too many cases. We have to do better.” He continued by asking everyone to wear masks.

Beshear also announced 8 new deaths Friday, raising the total to 1,242 Kentuckians lost to the virus. The deaths reported Friday included a 48-year-old woman from Logan County.

The state’s positivity rate now rests at 4.32%.
