Kentucky 139 Eastbound Exit Ramps on I-24 To Temporarily Close

Eastbound Kentucky 139 Cadiz-Princeton exit ramps to temporarily close beginning September 8, 2020

Motorists who routinely travel between Cadiz and Princeton along Interstate 24 need to be aware of an upcoming temporary closure of the Kentucky 139 Cadiz-Princeton exit ramps.

Kentucky Transportation Cabinet spokesman Keith Todd says a contractor plans to close the eastbound exit and entry ramps in this area Tuesday, September 8th with the closure expected to remain in place for about 60 days to allow reconstruction of the ramps. He adds during this extended ramp closure there will be no eastbound access to or from I-24 at this location.

Todd explains eastbound motorists can use either the KY 293 Eddyville-Princeton Exit 45 interchange or the U.S. 68 Cadiz-Hopkinsville Exit 65 Interchange as alternate eastbound entry and exit points. He states the KYTC is providing advance notice of this planned closure to allow commuters and businesses to plan ahead and notes westbound entry and exit ramps in this area will remain open to normal traffic flow.

This ramp work is part of the reconstruction of the eastbound lanes along the extended work zone from the 52 to 65 mile marker on I-24 through parts of Lyon, Caldwell, and Trigg counties.

The eastbound ramps at KY 139 Cadiz-Princeton Exit 56 are expected to reopen to traffic around November 6, 2020.
