Hopkinsville City Council will consider a property tax rate increase at its meeting Tuesday evening.

According to the agenda, council members will hear the 2020 property tax rate ordinance on first reading that will increase the tax rate on real property from 23.9 cents to 24.7 cents per $100 of assessed value. The ordinance also includes the tax rate on personal property of 24.8 cents of $100 assessed value, which is three-tenths of a penny less than last year’s rate of 25.1.

City Council will meet at 6:00 Tuesday evening in the Council Chamber at the Municipal Building in downtown.
