The Todd County Health Department and a long term care facility in the county reported more positive COVID-19 cases were confirmed Tuesday.

Director Jen Harris says an adult with underlying health conditions, who is connected with other cases, is currently in a congregate setting with moderate symptoms. She adds no new contacts have been quarantined.

According to Harris, the total number of COVID cases in the county is 70 since the outbreak began earlier this year. Of that number, 22 are active, and 48 have recovered from the virus.

Meanwhile, Hearthstone Place Long Term Care Administrator Elizabeth Gettings reported Tuesday afternoon they currently have twelve residents who have tested positive for the coronavirus and are in isolation at the facility. She added the two employees are quarantining at home. Last week, the long term care facility reported seven residents had been infected with the virus.

Gettings said they are continuing to work closely with local and state health officials and with the facility’s medical director to ensure they are taking all of the appropriate steps.
