Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Charges Against Hopkinsville Man

A Hopkinsville man was charged with possession of drugs and DUI after a traffic stop for speeding Tuesday night.

Christian County Sheriff’s Deputies say 32-year-old Cody Cantrell was stopped for going 21 mph over the speed limit on Greenville Road near the intersection of Antioch Church Road.

Cantrell was reportedly hesitant when deputies asked if there were any drugs in the vehicle and after a search, two spoons with residue on them, needles, several bags of meth, two oxycodone pills, and a bottle containing an anabolic steroid were found.

Deputies say Cantrell told them he had borrowed the vehicle for a couple of weeks. He is charged with speeding, DUI, trafficking anabolic steroids, and possession of meth and opiates.
