Person Of Interest Sought in Monday Princeton Shooting

A person of interest has been determined in connection to a shooting that left one person injured early Monday morning.

Princeton Police Chief Chris King states that officers were dispatched to the area of Varmint Trace in reference to a shooting just before one. He adds that when officers arrived they made contact with a male juvenile who exhibited signs of a gunshot wound but did not make contact with anyone else involved. The juvenile was transported to Caldwell Medical Center by Caldwell County EMS for non-life threatening minor injuries.

Chief King reports that investigation has led detectives to request a complaint warrant for 23-year-old Malik W. Ratcliff, of Madisonville, charging him with second degree assault and first degree wanton endangerment.

Chief King explains that the warrant is currently active and Ratcliff is still at large and is considered to be armed and dangerous.

Law enforcement are strongly suggesting the public to not come into contact with Ratcliff but are asking anyone who may know of Ratcliff’s whereabouts to contact the Princeton Police Department at 270-365-4657, your local law enforcement, or 911.
