Police: Man Found With Drugs After Shoplifting In Hopkinsville

A shoplifting complaint on East 9th Street led to a Hopkinsville man being charged with possession of cocaine Thursday night.

Hopkinsville Police say they were called to Hucks on East 9th Street after 54-year-old Columbus McGee took two cases of Bud Light and attempted to hide them in his truck.

McGee was reportedly located hiding under his truck and found to have a box cutter concealed on him along with a makeshift pipe that had a substance that tested positive for cocaine inside.

McGee is charged with possession of cocaine, theft, tampering with physical evidence, alcohol intoxication in a public place, and carrying a concealed weapon.
