Boys And Girls Club Breaking Ground On Cafeteria Expansion Wednesday

The Boys and Girls Club Hopkinsville-Christian County will be breaking ground on their kitchen/cafeteria project next week.

Terrance Davis, Executive Director for the organization says the groundbreaking will occur Wednesday evening, September 18 at 5:15. He adds the event is open to the public and will provide an opportunity for community members to celebrate the new addition which is anticipated to be completed in the spring.

The 2,100 square foot addition will have a kitchen which will allow them to conduct healthy lifestyle programs like culinary arts and gardening. The cafeteria will up to 75 youth to eat at one time while providing additional program space that will enable the club to serve more youth.

The club has been serving youth in the community since 2005 and is located at 1600 Walnut Street in Hopkinsville.
