Funeral Services Set For Guthrie Police Chief

Funeral arrangements have been announced for Guthrie Police Chief Matthew Humble who passed away at his home in Russellville Wednesday night after a battle with cancer. Funeral services for Humble will be held Saturday morning at 11:00 in the Walnut Grove Parkside Church in Russellville. Young Funeral Home Russellville Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.

Chief Humble, who was 37-years old and born in Christian County, had ten years of law enforcement and worked with the Russellville Police Department, Logan County Drug Task Force, worked with the Calvert City Police Department and was a member of the Kentucky Association of Chiefs of Police. He was promoted to chief at the Guthrie Police Department in July 2017. Prior to joining law enforcement, Humble served in the U.S. Marine Corps.

The Guthrie Police Department has parked Chief Humble’s cruiser across from American Cafe in downtown Guthrie as a memorial in his honor. They say everyone is welcome to come and pay their respects at any time.

Humble is survived by his parents, a son and daughter, two brothers and other relatives.
