Heavy rains over the weekend that continued into Monday morning has resulted in some high water in the area. Since midnight Monday, the Kentucky Mesonet site has recorded almost one half inch of rain in Christian County, three quarters of an inch in Trigg County, and almost three quarters of an inch in Caldwell County.

The National Weather service says upwards to another inch of additional rainfall is possible, mainly for western Kentucky. Falling on top of already rain soaked grounds, this could result in standing or ponding of water for some low land areas, and typically flood prone locales. We are already beginning to see some rising waters and some water hazards in the area.

Weather Edge Forecaster David Powell says this will be a wet week, but the weekend looks good.
