A former coach from Clarksville is facing a sexual abuse charge out of Fayette County. 50-year old Joseph Hart was arrested by the Christian County Sheriff's Office Thursday at Fort Campbell. The warrant says Lexington Police were notified that in February 2016 Hart allegedly had inappropriate sexual contact with an 18-year old student, whom he coached on the Track and Field team.
Hart had taken the team from Clarksville to Lexington to compete in an indoor track meet. After the competition, the warrant says they returned to the hotel, where he offered to massage the girl. She willingly went to his room as he reportedly often gave athletic massages. She told police this time he touched her under her clothes after she repeatedly told him stop and only roll her legs.
The warrant says Hart told officers if he did touch the victim, it was unintentional. Hart was charged with 3rd Degree Sexual Abuse.
